Updated 05-25-2005 Berlin Airlift NDB’s modified.

If you downloaded the FS2004 Scenery before 05-25-2005, here is a small update.

The update can also be used in FS2000 and FS2002, but you must manually copy the file

Into the proper directory and deleted the old bal2000.bgl file for FS2000.

If you installed the FS2002 version in FS2004, delete the berlin2k2 entry in settings…Scenery

Includes Gatow-Berlin, Rhein-Main Air Bases. Hamburg and Lake Havelsee Flying Boat Bases.

Weisbaden RW 26 ILS for use with default fs2004 scenery,

If you get the GATOW 1.2 scenery from FS Design Berlin, then delete the 4 files in this download that begin with Edgt

If you prefer to use the default EDDF (Frankfort-Main) then delete the 5 files that begin with Eddf

Burtonwood and Wiesbaden were removed from the fs2004 download due to incompatibilities with FS 2004.

Looking NNW

Burtonwood RAF base. Located between Liverpool and Manchester, UK

Constructed in 1939. Used for the Battle of Britain, Berlin Airlift and Operation Desert Storm

Runway 27 extended to 10,000’ in 1951. All that remains in 2001 are the 5 hangars and a little piece of RW33 on the north side of RW27

Looking North

Rhein-Main AFB. Located in Frankfort, Germany Now known as Frankfort Intl. More runways have been added.

Looking North

Wiesbaden AAF. Located 10 miles WNW of Frankfort. Still exists.

It was my intention to capture the essence of each of these fields. Many details have been omitted.

Note: the FS 2004 NDB update can also be used in FS 2002 and FS 2000.

When you unzip it, turn off “use folder names” and copy the bgl file to the directory

Containing your Berlin Airlift scenery. For FS 2000 you will have to delete your old

bal2000.bgl file to avoid duplications and conflicts.
